Howard B. Dunton Park

Howard B Dunton Park offers a variety of amenities for public use including picnic shelters, a playground, open greenspace, many trees, boardwalks, scenic decks along the lake shorelines and extending into the lake, and boat launch ramps. Fishing is allowed as regulated by State of Michigan law.

Park Details

All Holland Charter Township parks are open daily from 6:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. This park is under 24-hour camera surveillance. The large pavilion at Dunton Park located on the west end of the park near the restroom facility is available for reservations. All other picnic shelters and gazebos at Dunton Park are available for public use on a first come, first served basis. They may not be held, reserved or rented unless it is a Holland Charter Township sponsored event (for example: Annual Holland Charter Township Easter Egg Hunt at Quincy Park).

Boat Launch

The Howard B. Dunton Park Boat Launch is located on the east end of the park. The launch area has four boat launch slips and a floating dock which are ADA compliant.

Boat Launch Pay Station Information

The pay station is self-serve only and is located near the boat launch. Permits will be available only at the pay station. Rates are $8.00 for a daily pass and $37.00 for a seasonal pass. The pay station is credit card only. No refunds will be given for permits that are lost, stolen or destroyed. The pay station dispenses paper permits. Taking extra care for the seasonal permits is encouraged.

  • Only display the permit on your dashboard while at the boat launch to preserve the printing on the permit.
  • Insert into a zip lock bag, nonheated laminate sheet or plastic sleeve to keep dry and safe.
  • Heat laminating will destroy the permit. NO REFUNDS will be given.
  • Code Enforcement will issue citations according to Holland Charter Township Ordinancefor vehicles with boat trailers not displaying a permit.
