Hawthorn Pond Natural Area offers walking trails around the 5-acre Hawthorn Pond, a kayak launch ramp, a fishing deck, a boardwalk, and lookout stations at various locations around the pond as well as on the Macatawa River.
The Hawthorn Pond Natural Area was developed in 2011 and is jointly owned by Holland Charter Township and Ottawa County.
The park is open year-round for fishing. In recent years, Holland Charter Township has planted fish to help with the fish population in the pond.
All Holland Charter Township parks are open daily from 6:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. The picnic shelter at this location is available for public use on a first come, first served basis. This picnic shelter may not be held, reserved or rented unless it is a Holland Charter Township sponsored event (for example: Annual Holland Charter Township Easter Egg Hunt at Quincy Park).
